ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Arrive in Cairo

Upon arrival to Cairo International Airport, Crossroads Travel representative will be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign with your name, he will help and assist you through visa & immigration formalities, baggage claim & customs. Then transfer to your hotel with the remainder of day at leisure regarding to your arrival time. Overnight stay Cairo.

 

Day 2: Cairo Full Day Sightseeing Tour

Tour start with a fascinating introduction to each of the three Giza pyramids: Cheops, Khafre and Menakaure. You will have free time to enter one of the pyramids (additional cost); a short drive to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx, the enigmatic symbol of Egypt. Cairo’s famous Egyptian Museum houses 165,000 Egyptian artifacts, but the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamun are the highlight. His six gilded coffins dominate the main hall, while his magnificent death mask is the star attraction. Continuing to Khan el Khalili bazaar, you’ll enjoy free time to stroll through the maze of streets and bargain for a souvenir of your trip to Egypt. During the day you will also have the chance to visit a Papyrus Institute to see how the famous artwork is made (Breakfast & Lunch)

 

Day 3: Cairo Alexandria

Departure and proceed to Alexandria (it takes 2.5 – 3 hour drive). Your first stop is the Catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa, a Roman burial site which has a family tomb that shows the merging of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. Back above ground, continue to Pompey’s Pillar, an 82 foot (25 meter) granite column built to honor Emperor Diocletian who freed the besieged city and brought food to the starving people. Maintaining the Roman theme, the next site your guide will show you is the Roman Amphitheater, possibly the best preserved Roman site in Egypt. As well as the original amphitheater, the site also has the remains of a Roman street and homes. After lunch you will visit the famous Alexandria Library. After centuries of neglect the library has been rebuilt and the great books of the world returned. In contrast to the ancient architecture found throughout Egypt, the Norwegian designed building is a striking piece of modern design. Inside, more than 4.2 million books can be found from throughout the ages with the number continually growing. Overnight in Alexandria. (Breakfast & Lunch)

 

Day 4: Alexandria- Cairo

After breakfast drive back to Cairo. Free day to enjoy old town. (OPTIONAL: In the evening we can arrange an exclusive nile dinner on a sailing boat with traditional show.)

 

Day 5: Cairo City Tour

After breakfast pick up from your hotel for a full day city tour. You will visit Egyptian Museum in the morning. After lunch you visit the Mohammed Ali Citadel, The Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali then you will go to old Khan El Khalili bazaar. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the hotel for overnight. (B,L)

 

Day 6: Departure from Cairo

Free at Leisure to shop at the many malls and souks in Cairo. Transfer to Airport for final Departure. Cairo Alexandria Tour Breakfast
