ITINERARY
Day 1 – Arrival in Cairo
Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, our representative will meet you and assist you through the entry formalities, andf transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of day is at leisure. Overnight in Cairo. (D) (Welcome Drink)
Day 2 – Giza, Cairo- Aswan
After breakfast, you proceed to the Giza Plateau to visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus. You’ll also see the legendary Sphinx, varying and the Valley Temple facing the great statue. Afterwards, you head back to Cairo to visit the famed Egyptian Museum, with its “Treasures Room” of the child king Tutankhamen. Then it’s on to the Coptic part of Cairo to visit the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue. Your city tour concludes with a visit to the sprawling Khan El Khalili Bazaar. You’ll have time to visit some shops before you are transferred to airport for your flight to Aswan, upon arrival you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Aswan. (B,L)
Day 3 – Aswan
After breakfast depart on a full day tour visiting the High Dam, “Unfinished Obelisk” and Philae Temple. Afterwards enjoy a felucca ride on the Nile offering views of Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. (An optional excursion to Abu Simbel by land or air is available.) Overnight in Aswan. Day 4 – Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor
This morning you depart for Luxor. Along the way, there are stops in in Kom Ombo to visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, and in Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus, the largest and most completely preserved Pharaonic Temple whose architecture is a combination of Pharaonic and Greek styles. (An Optional Sound & Light Show at the Temple of Karnak is available.) Overnight in Luxor. (B, L)
Day 5 – Luxor (Temple of Karnak, Temple of Luxor), Hurghada
This morning you visit the Temple of Karnak, in the north of Luxor. The temple, often referred to as “The Temple of Temples”, is the largest place of worship ever built. Its ancient name, Ipetisut, means “the most sacred of places.” After lunch, you visit the graceful Temple of Luxor with its gigantic statues and obelisks. Built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for rituals and festivals, the temple was dedicated to the God Amun. Then you depart for Hurghada, one of the most popular of Egypt’s Red Sea resorts. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Hurghada. (B, L)
Day 6 and 7 – Hurghada
Two full days at leisure to relax or you can choose from a host of OPTIONAL recreational activities, such as scuba diving and snorkeling among the coral reefs to seeing the amazing species of fish and undersea life, windsurfing, sailing, and deep-sea fishing. Overnight in Hurghada. (B)
Day 8 – Hurghada, Cairo
You will have some free time before taking a flight back to Cairo. Upon your arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
Day 9 – Departure from Cairo
Free time until you are transferred to the airport to board your homeward bound flight. End of Egypt Private Tour (B)
